With over 50,000 units shipped, the DE2 took the FPGA academic world to another level by emphasizing designs using real-world standards with interfaces that had yet been seen on any other cost-effective development kit. Included in the package also comes full-blown reference designs, such as a digital television box, SD card music player, digital camera system, and much more, which allowed students to learn independently and quickly.
